Walmart Beauty Box Fall 2016

DSC_0032.jpg

The Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly beauty subscription box that is $5. I have gotten both sample and full size items along with a bunch of coupons. They have different boxes depending upon your age group, I always get the Trendsetters Box since I am in my early twenties. Here are the items that I got from my Fall 2016 box, this time around it was mostly sample size items.

  • Eco-Tools Makeup Brush Cleansing Cloths: There is one cloth and it is suppose to be a simple way to remove oils and makeup daily so your brushes stay fresh and clean. I have actually never heard of this product so I am pretty excited to try it out since washing my brushes is such a pain. It is also cruelty free and 100% vegan, which is a plus (even though I do not just use cruelty free makeup).
  • Biore Charcoal Pore Strips: These are nose stripes which you put on for about 10-15 minutes and once you peel it off it is suppose to remove all your blackheads. This is actually an item that I have been meaning to try but have not gotten around to it. Safe to say that it does live up to its hype, my nose felt so smooth and clean after I used it.
  • Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails GummiesYou get 2 strawberry flavored gummies and these are suppose to help support beautiful hair, skin and nails. Not really a fan of getting vitamins because taking just a few is not going to help me see a difference, the taste is meh as well.
  • Clean & Clear Deep Action 60 second Shower Mask: This sample size item is suppose to gently exfoliate your skin. Personally, I am unlikely to include this in my skin care routine but I do like these for when I go on vacation since it is so easy to travel with.
  • Dove Purely Pampering, Nourishing Body Wash: I am a huge fan of Dove body wash and I love these sample sized items for traveling (saves me from buying sample size items).
  • Hello Pure Mint Toothpaste: Another item that I tend to travel with rather than using at home, nothing too exciting but very practical.
  • Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for the Body: This item is not super exciting since it is so TINY and it’s suppose to be a moisturizer for the body, I feel like I would finish the body just using it on my hands.
  • Village Naturals Therapy, Aches + Pain Muscle Relief Bath Soak: This item was very surprising since it was something that I have never seen in a Walmart Beauty Box. I am not a fan of bath soaks especially since I never take baths, also there was such a heavy scent to this that my whole box smelled like it. I am not a fan.
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo: This is easily my favorite item in the box and it is not even a new item. I have been using this for ages and love this product so much. I am obsessed with dry shampoo and Batiste is one of my favorite dry shampoo brands, super excited to have another bottle (just in case I run out.)

Overall, the Walmart Beauty Box tends to be very practical and nothing too exciting. I feel like the boxes are pretty worth it for $5, especially since it is quarterly so it’s not too bad. I have tons of travel size items from them and is always prepared whenever I go anywhere with friends or family.  I think I am going to continue to stick with it but maybe eventually cancel it since it is not all too exciting, it is the longest subscription box that I have kept with though.

I am back again with a different kind of post (one that isn’t makeup related.) This is an unboxing of a subscription box;Skoshbox. Skoshbox is monthly Japanese candy subscription box for $12/month. This is my third month with this subscription, so far I have been very impressed with my boxes.

Here is card which describes all the products that are in this months box. I see a lot of candy and gum in this box (which I am not too excited for, especially since I prefer salty snacks over sweet ones.)

Here is what I see when I opened my box.

These were all the products that were in my box for this month. I am super excited to try Jagabee lightly salted potato crisps, since it is Calbee and I love Calbee snacks. I’m not too fond of all the gum samples in this box though, since I am not a fan of chewing gum. Overall, this box was just alright, nothing too special, I preferred the previous boxes more.

[Unboxing] Skoshbox January 2014 Review

I am back today with a review on a snack subscription box;Skoshbox. Skoshbox is monthly Japanese candy subscription box for $12/month. This is the second box that I have gotten from my subscription and I am excited to see what is in the January 2014 box!

[Unboxing] Walmart Winter 2014

So Walmart recently came out with beauty boxes. They are seasonal boxes, with random sample/full size beauty items for only $5 per box. This is the second box that I have ever gotten from them.

This is what the boxes look like.

I was super excited to open the Winter Box, since for only $5 I find that these boxes are extremely worth it!

Here is what I got in my box. I was watching Eleventhgorgeous‘s video about this beauty box and they actually got different items than me. So I there there is more than one box out there, but this is what I got in my box.

The first item was this Olay travel size makeup remover sheets. I actually have tired these sheets and I absolutely love them and I am always excited for travel size items, since they are so easy to throw into my bag and I can easily carry them around anywhere.

Then I got these two bottles of L’oreal Paris shampoo and conditioner. For sample sizes, these bottles were pretty big, they are about twice as large as the usual sample bottles I get. I am excited to try them since they are sulfate-free.

Next item was a sample size bottle of Jergen’s body lotion. This item was my least favorite item in the whole box, since I am not a fan of lotions, but I guess it would be a good item to put in my bag and bring it everywhere with me.

My final item was a Maybelline Color Senstation’s lipstick from their Buff’s collection in the shade Maple Kiss. It is an neutral looking lipstick and I am excited to try it out.

Overall, I am pretty happy with my box and even though I got mostly sample sized products, the products themselves were great and the box is only $5. I love how they were products that I would actually use. My problem with beauty boxes is that sometimes they are full of items that I do not find myself using, however this box has items that I know I will be reaching for!

[Unboxing] Skoshbox December 2014 Review

Today, I’m going to be doing a different kind of review. Instead of doing a makeup review post, I’ll be doing a review on a subscription box;Skoshbox. Skoshbox is monthly Japanese candy subscription box for $12/month. I recently received this box just in time for finals week!

How the box looked like when I recieved it.
How the box looked like when I recieved it.

The box was a lot smaller than I expected it to be. However I was extremely excited to see what was inside because who doesn’t want tasty snacks especially during Finals week.

This is what it looks like when I first opened it.
This is what it looks like when I first opened it.

I love the packaging and the box, the design is extremely simple but yet it is super clean and sleek looking. They also have a flyer on the top which lists all the product that is in the box for this month.

All the goodies for the month!
All the goodies for the month!

Once I open the package, I found all my goodies. Everything is tightly put together. They are all sample sizes in order to give you a taste of what they are like. You can buy the full size snacks on their website.

These are all the goodies for the month of December. I am extremely looking forward to try the Pretz snack since it is called Caramel Pie Pretz. I tired the potato ring snack and it was delicious and I cannot wait to try more of the snacks.

Pros:

  • Extremely neat packaging
  • The snacks are really tasty and interesting
  • Most of the snacks are not easily available
  • Delivered to your doorstep every single month

Cons:

  • A bit pricey for sample size products

Overall, I love my box of food goodies, and I think that I would continue to subscribe to this box, I love the different variety of snacks they provide (from sweets to salty) so I can fulfill any craving I have. Also, I love how the snacks are not easily available and this way I can try new snacks and see which ones I like before buying the full size.
